Sacramental Program
During your child's time at St. Therese’s they may continue their faith journey through participation in the Sacraments of Reconciliation, Confirmation and First Eucharist. The Sacrament of First Reconciliation is held during fourth term, and the Sacraments of Initiation (Confirmation and First Eucharist) during the second term.
In the Sandhurst Diocese the preparation for and participation in the Sacraments occurs through the Parish Sacramental Program. The Parish Sacramental Program is an important time of formation and growth for the children, and it is fitting that the preparation occurs within the parish as it is with the Parish community that the children will receive these sacraments.
If your child has not been baptised or baptised in another Christian religion and would like to become a Catholic, the parish runs a Rite of Christian Initiation for Children (RCIC) during the first term of each school year.
During their preparation for the sacraments the children and their family will participate in information sessions, formation sessions following the “Steps in Faith” sacramental preparation program for the Sandhurst Diocese, and presentations at Parish Masses in the weeks leading up to the celebration of the Sacraments.
For Adult members of our school and parish community who would like to continue enter into the Catholic Church through Baptism or continue their faith journey through Confirmation and communion, the Parish offers the RCIA (Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults) program yearly. This journey commences during October/ November finishes at Pentecost.
