Outside of School Hours Care Service
YMCA Children’s Programs
The Y is an established child care and education provider that operates across Victoria, with
several services based within the Bendigo community. Their service is a great solution for
busy families and provides a fun and friendly environment for your child to grow and learn.
The program will run sessions Monday to Friday based on campus grounds in our School
Hall. In addition, the Y will offer full days of care on pupil free days.
YMCA session hours include:
Before School Care: 7:00am - 8:45am
After School Care: 3:00pm - 6:00pm
Pupil Free Day: 7:00am - 6:00pm
The Outside School Hours Care Program operates from the School Hall, which is in the same grounds as the school. At the end of the school day the students walk directly to the school hall and are ticked off the register. After school activities are less structured than those offered during the Pupil Free Days, to allow children to wind down after the school day.
The program's activities are designed to meet the interests of children aged 5-12 years. Children are offered the opportunity to participate in leisure and recreation activities including art/craft, games, drama, sport/physical activities, cooking and other quiet activities. We are here to provide quality care and enjoyment for the children whilst they are in our care.
The Y has worked with the St Therese's leadership team to develop a COVID safety plan specific to this facility. Learn more about the Y’s increased health and safety measures.

The Y commenced management in August 2020 and has since been introducing services incrementally due to the ongoing COVID-19 situation.
From the start of Term 4 2020 (Monday 5 October) both Before School Care and After School Care sessions will be available on an ongoing basis.
This date coincides with children from regional Victoria in Prep to Grade 6 returning to onsite learning, part of the Victorian Government’s 'Roadmap for reopening Victoria'.
